Running slow miles on *dead legs in 80-degree...
…but I did it. :)  My calves were pretty darn cramp-y, despite my CEP socks. It was to the point where I worried that I should not run on them. I stopped and stretched a few times and made it through, just took it slow. I rolled them out on the foam roller a bit after stretching, but I may have to do the rolling-pin bit on them.  My muscles are SORE everywhere, not just my calves. That is...

Apparently, I am now a man magnet.
I guess this is a lifestyle change side effect? It is weird, as I don’t really get it at all. I don’t “feel” like I look any different, but something obviously is. I am approaching 40. I wear a bun. A BUN. On a daily basis. A bun is sexy? *Confused.* There are some gray hairs in said bun. I wear a minimal amount of makeup, if any at all. I don’t have large breasts, I...

Setting Out My Running Clothes For Tomorrow
Exactly like I do for my work clothes. I am setting everything up the night before as if tomorrow will be a race day. Hopefully, this will help keep me running again on the regular.

Points About My New and Improved Visual Acuity,...
I was much better looking in the mirror before my vision was corrected, har har. I can see all the people in their cars looking at me running while they pass by! :D I can see all the people in their cars looking at me running while they pass by! D:  I have been missing out on so much by putting off having my eyes checked.  Running is much more enjoyable now that I can SEE stuff. Thank...

I need to give myself permission to put running...
This is a hard one for me. Would it be so bad, if I were short on time and still ran, for us to eat sandwiches for dinner? Do I really have to cook all the time? I need to give myself permission to make running a priority after work. Caring for myself is important.  Things are slipping. I am eating in sketchy ways, as Ben would say. I have not ran or exercised all week, and I overate on fried...

After Wearing My New Contacts For a Full Day...
…I came home and took them out. I was SHOCKED at how much my visual acuity had deteriorated and how much I had been missing. Bummer. I HATED having to take them out and return to my small, blurry world. I am a freak of nature, and apparently, my eyes just want me to be blind. They have declared mutiny and are the enemy. :P   However, with the new correction and sharper vision, running...

melanieisdoinglife replied to your post: Holy crap, I can see. And wait until my new, sexay… How does that happen? Lasik doesn’t fix it forever? For some, yes. For others, no. When I had it done, they told me forever (until reading glasses were needed). The optician I saw today said 6 years average is how long it lasts until some type of correction is needed. However, he said that normally...

Holy crap, I can see. And wait until my new, sexay glasses come in. I should have done this sooner. Yep, my vision regressed. Nearsighted again with more astigmatism.

realdeal replied to your video: Yogurt review! Soooo…what’s the verdict? I mean other than “weird”? Did you eat it all? Would you have it again? Etc….You got my curiosity up. ;) It was not so terrible that I could NOT eat it, but it is not something I would “want” to eat. Hubby actually tried it too, and he also thought it was weird. He ate it though, simply because he did not want...

Thinking...
…about how much I want to train for the 5K race, the race I ran last year as my first 5K ever, once again this year. However, I know it will be MORE difficult this time with the new job. Thinking about how it is possible I could train for it and then have to work that day. It is a gamble, but it is one I am considering. Seriously. I miss racing!

Sh*t My Hubby Says
Me: “You are totally going to get COPD and end up with an oxygen tank if you don’t quit smoking.” O.O Hubby: I’m going to get an oxygen tank that fits on my back with a helmet for my head so I can walk around looking like an ASTRONAUT! :D  Me: *facepalm* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hubby, after finding all the bird poop on his car: “I hate birds. I HATE birds. They are...

Oh Yeah,
The sock armband ROCKED. It was comfortable, stayed in place and did not move, wicked sweat and kept it away from my phone, and it never chafed me at all. Love it! :D Not bad for a recycled tube sock. The lady that came up with the idea is a genius.

And Then *Le Wild Rottweiler Suddenly Appears
I was running along, minding my own business, when *le wild rottweiler suddenly appeared. He was standing still, looking me right in the eye with his nose right at my thigh, and I knew he meant business. I pulled my earphone out to hear him growling at me in great disapproval. I began my dog whispering magic, and, believe it or not, petted the guy and talked to him as he continued to growl but...
