Five Very, Very Slow Miles Done
It was gorgeous out, but I just was not feeling anything other than turtle speed. I stopped once mid run to take a phone call. Five miles down, and that is what counts.

Do Life Challenge Week #8; Rock the Challenges...
Wrapping up week #8; it was a tough. I had a lot happen in my life that caused a great deal of stress and needed my immediate attention. I did the best I could, though.
What did you decide on this week?
I did the drop-the-meat challenge and the analyze-the-important-areas-of-your-life challenge.
How did the other participants inspire you?
My buddy and I e-mailed each other and supported...

One Slip Does Not Mean Failure
Unless I allow it to be.
I won’t.
Today I will run the easy three miles I was supposed to run yesterday, in a skirt and while carrying bag (for Aimee).
It is not self-punishment. It is about setting things right and giving myself the mindset that making a mistake for one day does not erase everything else and does NOT determine my tomorrow. *I* determine my tomorrow. It is about giving...

Blatant realizations.
kayladoeslife:
If I can run a half marathon, I can run more half marathons.
If I can run a half marathon, I can get stronger.
If I can run a half marathon, I can drop 40 lbs. and be a healthy weight.
If I can run a half marathon, I can attempt to do a career that I KNOW I’ve always wanted to do. And I can be successful at it.
If I can run a half marathon, I can officially rid myself of a...

So Thankful Thursday
So this is a little late, but better late than never.
I am thankful for good friends. They truly are a blessing and can make a day much brighter just by being who they are. :)

Do Life Challenge Week #8; Rock the Challenges
Getting this rolling for the week. This week will be better than the last! :D
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Issue a challenge to everyone for the week in this thread. Tell us why you’re issuing the challenge and what it means to you. Is it something you’re struggling with? Is it something that has been working for you? It can be anything, but it has to...
Do Life Challenge Week #7: Food; COMPLETE...
runningangel:
FAIL. Yep, I totally failed this week on all fronts.
In my defense, I had a very stressful week. That said, I know I could have handled it better food wise. I ate out more nights than I ate at home. I tried nothing new, and I ate cookies and other bad things that I was supposed to avoid.
Okay. I can’t win them all, so on to next week while looking up. :)
R&B - Recap: Finding my Impossible
kayladoeslife:
Crossing that finish line and getting that medal was- I can’t explain it. I just can’t. There’s no way I can describe how it feels.
Today, the limits of my life went out of the door. Today, the walls and barriers that I’ve put up on doing what I want in life were broken down. Today, the fear of not being good enough transformed into a desire to become better than I am.
Today, I...
Three VERY SCARY Miles Down
Nothing is harder to do than a slow, recovery run in an empty, wooded campground at night. ALONE. D: Scary run was SCARY! But I did it. :D Hoozah. It took everything in me not to BOLT out of there as FAST as I could. In my mind, around every corner was a machete man in a hockey mask, the Grassman, wolves, Jason from Friday the 13th, and other random scary things.
In the end, the only thing out...
That awkward moment when I find a photo of myself...
…and decide I never want to look and feel like that again.
Lately I have been putting myself to sleep at...
…by mentally joining my current running routes together to equal the marathon distance, and I run it in my mind. I think it helps to lesson my fear somewhat, and it makes it seem more possible.
Well, No Shoes
No shoe deals today, but I did not come away empty handed. I did find some things on clearance and some heavily discounted things. I got some running gloves and arm warmers, another technical thermal running hoodie (I only have one that I have to keep washing and re-wearing over and over), and a new sports bra to rotate in. I swear, Nike makes the best sports bras ever.
I was skeptical of the...
Sounds like whatever you’re doing is working, but another suggestion for dry skin - running a humidifier at night. I swear by it for avoiding dry skin AND colds/flu!
Very good advice. :) I do have one, and I do run it sometimes.
Three More Miles
Nice and slow.
Gentle snowfall, the Coldplay station on Pandora, and a slow/easy run are a good mix.
Ran 3 More Miles
And got ambushed by a squirrel each lap.
Next time I run out that way, I am going to have to get a photo of the bushy-tailed bandit. :P
Run time was 29:06, average pace 9:41. Felt pretty good! I actually did it right by running slower yesterday.
Repeat of Yesterday
Three more miles.
Snow and ice.
Air temperature was 9 degrees with windchill today.
Mustache happened.
It was a little less windy, though. :)
Do Life Challenge Week #6 COMPLETE; Recommitting...
Did you push hard this week?
I did! I finally was able to get over my illness, so that meant I felt better. My exercise became more effective, which is good.
How about your buddy? Did you stay connected?
We did! :D Love her to pieces. I enjoy the e-mails I receive from her. She is so supportive and just wonderful all around.
How have you improved since day one?
I have been pushing myself...
Sh*t My Hubby Says
Me: “Look how nice the photo turned out.” :D
